This has … WebDec 31, 2024 · At one point as I was sitting in the car with the key upright on the dash the trunk just popped open. I ultimately disconnected the manual trunk open switch. The wires had some rust on them and the switch itself was very sensitive simply shaking it opened the trunk. 3 Months later the trunk has not opened once randomly.

I finally did this to mine and no more problems. BTW, I never used the button to open mine, always the rear handle on the hatch.
WebSep 21, 2024 · Subsequently we made sure that the "smart" trunk feature was turned off, we added a silicone sleeve to the remote, and confirmed that you do have to press and hold the trunk release for about 2 full seconds. The trunk still self-opens once or twice a month, but so far, only in our garage.
