I went for the 100-400 and a 1.4 myself. I couldn't see myself carrying the weight of the 150-600s, the 100-400 is really quite manageable. Saying that $500 for the 300mm is a nice deal.

When I first tried this, and looked at the photos, my eyes popped out of my head! Even wide open at f/8, this is a more than useable combination. You can find them for about 4K used. Image quality is excellent. Keep the 100-400 for zoom. The 150-600 sport is a nice lens, but heavy for a zoom. I haven’t used the 60-600, but from what I’ve read, it gets soft getting to 600mm.
