Problem solved, I fiddled with the 3 color inks pulling them out and reinstalling them utill all 3 were blinking, (these have been dry for years as I only use black ink) I then pressed the Stop/Reset button for the usual 5 seconds, the yellow light went out and now the printer and scanner work perfectly. Only printed a small handful of things. All images came out great. Didn't really have a need for printing anything since then until today.
